The Rector's Cup was organised with the aim of bringing students together in friendly competition. It was a one day captain's ball carnival that saw 12 teams compete for both competitive and non-competitive prizes. The emphasis of the carnival was on fostering friendship between the new residents of the College and to kick of the new academic year with a day of sporting fun.

The highlight of the carnival was probably the match deciding the first and second runners up. Both teams were so determined to win that they pushed the game into overtime twice. Much sportsmanship that was witnessed and eventually everyone was cheering for the players of both teams who were on court as if the competition was between the players and the clock.

At the end of the day, though everyone was exhausted, all left with a spirit of fraternity with the RC4 community.
