What is social entrepreneurship and how can youths take the step to make a difference through it?

Ms. Cindy Chng holds a Masters in Public Administration from Huazhong University of Science & Technology under the Chinese Government Scholarship Special Program for ASEAN Senior Administrators, and a Bachelor of Business from Nanyang Business School, NTU, with major in Tourism & Hospitality and minor in Entrepreneurship.

Cindy has several years of experience working in the tourism industry, specialising in sustainable tourism and educational tourism. Shereceived a start-up grant of $50,000 from SPRING Singapore in 2009 to start Eco Travel Services and she has also been involved in various start-ups in Laos, China and Malaysia. Cindy is also lecturing in Temasek Polytechnic in entrepreneurship and business management subjects.

Cindy is also active in grassroots and volunteer work in Singapore, ASEAN and The Commonwealth. She started volunteering since 2002 and had been given numerous opportunities to develop herself and to represent Singapore at various ASEAN and international programmes. As recognition for her active contributions, Cindy received the ASEAN Youth Award in 2012.
