Mr Aaron Maniam is an unusual civil servant. “Bureaucrat” is the last word you would use to describe him.
On 15 March 2022, Residential College 4 residents enjoyed an informal session of interaction with him where he shared his experiences working in multiple Government ministries and departments and how he spends his free time writing poetry, among many other “extracurricular activities”. Aaron focused on the notion of “metaphor” and used it to tie together his policy-making and poetry-writing personas.
The budding systems citizens of RC4 would not find the inter-connectedness of the world of ideas surprising!
