Master’s Bubble Tea Night: Becoming a City of Good – An Invitation to Dream Together

16th August 2022

Residential College 4 residents were delighted to have Ms. Melissa Kwee, CEO of National Volunteer & Philanthropy Centre (NVPC), to share with them her personal life experiences and how she overcome the challenges along the way. Participants enjoyed the session and one of them shared the following:

Melissa's perspective session was an enlightening and unique one. The way she conducted the session was rather different, in that she did not rely on content-heavy slides, but instead spoke to us warmly, candidly and from the heart. The discussions we had were very inspiring - her enthusiasm and passion for driving change in youth really struck with me. A key takeaway she mentioned from her journey of mentoring was to not judge people for their actions/ mistakes without knowing where they are coming from. For example, one of her students used to be late not out of laziness but due to working 2 jobs a day. Overall, it was an extremely calming and engaging 90 mins and I really appreciate the opportunity to learn from her.
