Ops Tealsday is an annual tradition at Residential College 4 whereby residents display their RC4 pride by adorning the college shirt, symbolizing unity and belonging within the RC4 community.
Held on 20 February 2024, Ops Tealsday had an even greater significance as it coincided with RC4's 10th anniversary celebration and the grand opening of Oasis, a serene space thoughtfully co-created by RC4 staff, faculty, and students. Guest of Honor, Associate Professor Ho Han Kiat (Dean of Students), joined us to officially launch the Oasis room.
Oasis aims to provide a peaceful haven for residents seeking moments of quiet relaxation amidst their bustling academic lives. Amenities of the room include cute short comic books, coloring books, to a brand-new massage chair for all residents to enjoy.
Dubbed "Oscar's Oasis Odyssey", the event also offered many engaging activities for residents to enjoy, such as dog therapy by SPCA, churros, art jamming to various carnival games - every moment was a testament to the vibrant spirit of RC4!
"Teal is the color that unites us. Despite the rigorous planning, the laughter echoing through the MPSH made it all worthwhile," shared Mavis Cheng, a second-year Information Systems student and committee member for Ops Tealsday.
Tay Ruxin, a second-year Computer Science student, shared, "It was so heart-warming to see residents gather to paint, play and heal together. It was a good break from the hectic lifestyle that we have."
With the success of Ops Tealsday, RC4 will continue to commit to fostering a strong sense of community and well-being among our residents.
