Congratulations to Residential College 4 alumni Teo Jia Xin (College of Design and Engineering, Class of 2026) on being awarded the National University of Singapore Society (NUSS) Medal for Outstanding Achievement. The NUSS Medal is awarded annually to recognise one graduating student from each faculty for exceptional all-round achievements.

During her time at RC4, Jia Xin distinguished herself as a dedicated and inspiring student leader. She served as Head Resident Assistant, Project Director for Freshman Orientation Camp, Vice-Sports Director of the 9th College Students' Committee, and Peer Student Supporter, making a lasting impact on the RC4 community.

“The RC4 community defined my university experience, as I spent most of my time being involved in activities in College,” Jia Xin shared. “I had the privilege of giving back to the community that had given me so much. Supporting residents through challenges, welcoming freshmen as they navigated a new chapter of life, and working with fellow student leaders showed me the value of empathy, teamwork, and servant leadership. These experiences allowed me to grow and develop skills that help me become a better leader and individual.”

In recognition of her exceptional contributions to the RC4 community, she was also awarded the Honour Roll Award (Distinction) during the RC4 Formal Dinner.

Looking back on her time at RC4, Jia Xin reflected, “RC4 is a home where people are encouraged to learn, contribute, and grow together. It is a place that challenged me to step outside my comfort zone, gave me lifelong friendships, and provided opportunities I never imagined I would have.”

Jia Xin's achievements reflect the dedication, resilience, and growth that RC4 seeks to nurture in its students. As Director of Student Life at RC4, Associate Professor Naviyn Prabhu Balakrishnan, shared, "Over her four years at RC4, Jiaxin has proven to be an exceptionally reliable, sincere, and dedicated student leader. Whether serving as a Resident Assistant or a Peer Student Supporter, her genuine commitment to the well-being of others has left a lasting impact on our residential community. Her outstanding service and character make her the ultimate role model for future generations of RC4 leaders."

We are proud to celebrate this well-deserved recognition and look forward to following the impact she will continue to make beyond NUS.
