Dr. Ali Kadri was a Senior Research Fellow at the Middle East Institute, National University of Singapore. He was previously Visiting Fellow at the Department of International Development, London School of Economics (LSE) and Head of the Economic Analysis Section at the United Nations regional office for Western Asia. His current research is on the political economy of development. His forthcoming book, provisionally titled the Theory of Forced Labour Migration, analyses the making of wage labour in the modern era.
