Dr. Corinne ONG Pei Pei

As an environmental and urban sociologist, Corinne finds fascinating, how societies dynamically construct and reproduce their living environments (particularly their interconnected sociocultural and ecological environments), with outcomes they have to adapt to. Her disciplinary training and professional experiences have shaped her applied research and teaching interests which span across waste, water, food, and energy management in societies. She also believes in making an impact through rigorous mixed methods research, explaining her contributions to applied social behavioural studies on environment and sustainability issues. She hopes that her research can prove instructive to public policy making and advance societal resilience. Her peer reviewed research publications include works on virtual serious games on water conservation conducted with youths, recycling motivations among Singapore households, and water management policies in the ASEAN region. Outside of work, Corinne enjoys cooking up a storm in her humble kitchen with generous, flavour-filled health-conscious meals.
