Dr. Lynette Tan Yuen Ling is the Director of External Programmes at Residential College 4 (RC4), National University of Singapore (NUS). She has been teaching at university for over 20 years both in the UK and locally, where she is at present Senior Lecturer at NUS.

Lynette teaches Systems Thinking at RC4 where her course explores the philosophies and work of the Systems Pioneers and empowers students to be humane change agents as they navigate global issues that are critical in the 21st Century. Lynette's other teaching and research interests include Hollywood and Singapore Cinema, Gender Studies, and Post-colonial Studies, and she has also published on Gamification in Higher Education, student motivation and higher order learning skills. In recognition for excellence in teaching, Lynette won multiple teaching awards at the university level and has been placed on both the ATEA (Annual Teaching Excellence Award) and RCTEA (Residential Colleges Teaching Excellence Award) honour rolls at NUS.

Lynette is also a published author and poet, for both adult and child audiences. She has been featured at major literary festivals both overseas and locally and also appeared in leading magazines in Singapore. Her children's books were awarded grants by the Media Development Authority of Singapore and the National Arts Council for their contributions to literacy. She was also a curator for the Singapore Film Festival.
