Dr. Naviyn Prabhu Balakrishnan received his PhD from NUS, in the department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering. Naviyn has also worked as a graduate research assistant in CDTL, NUS. Before coming to Singapore, Naviyn completed his MSc with distinction in Pharmaceutical Engineering at Loughborough University, UK. He received gold medal from Bharathidasan University, India for being the department topper during his undergraduate studies in Pharmaceutical Engineering and Technology. Naviyn works in the intersection of healthcare, systems engineering and pharmaceutical sciences. His specific research interests include modelling of diseases and healthcare systems which can serve as decision support tools for physicians and policy makers. He has worked in disease systems like diabetes, diabetic ketoacidosis and HIV. Some of his other interests include cooking, gardening, listening to music and reading novels, stories and writing.
