Peng T. Ong received his B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin and his M.S. in Computer Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He began his career in Silicon Valley. As an entrepreneur, he co-founded a series of successful companies including Match.com, Interwoven and Encentuate, whose products today combined generate over USD$1 billion in revenues annually.

Mr. Ong is an industry veteran with over 25 years of distinguished experience as an entrepreneur, founder, and investor in Silicon Valley and in Asia. He is the Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Monk’s Hill Ventures, a venture capital firm based in Southeast Asia that invests in early-stage technology companies in the Southeast Asia region.

He had previously served on boards and advisory committees of National Research Foundation of Singapore, Infocomm Media Development Authority, Singapore University of Technology and Design, and Singtel, amongst others. He is currently the Chairman of SolveEducation! and serves as a member of the International Advisory Board for the University of Texas at Austin.

In 2012, he was awarded the Public Service Medal by the President of the Republic of Singapore, in recognition of his contributions to the nation’s development.
