Assoc Prof Johan Geertsema is a Fellow of the University Scholars Programme (USP), where he has since 2001 designed and taught courses in Writing and Critical Thinking as well as Literary Studies. He has also taught, and guest lectured, in the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences. In the USP, he served as a member of the Faculty Teaching Excellence Committee (2007-2009) and as the editor of folio, a journal that is meant to disseminate some of the best writing their students produce (2004-present). Currently, he is also the Director of the Centre for Development of Teaching and Learning.
