Dr FONG Yoke Sim is Senior Lecturer at CELC. Over the past 25 years, she has enjoyed teaching courses in Business Communication, EAP, English Assist, Graduate English, Intensive English, EMI, and Ideas and Exposition. Her pedagogical efforts have been recognised in various Annual Teaching Excellence Awards at centre, college and university levels. Her research interests include intercultural communication, language education, learner strategies and motivation. She is author of the book, Learners in Transition: Chinese Students' Journeys from EFL to ESL and EIL (2019), book chapters and journal papers. She holds a PhD from the University of Nottingham, an MSc from the University of Edinburgh and a BA from the University of Singapore, besides a Dip-Ed and a Dip RSA.
