University is huge and unknown, so how can you feel a sense of home? Look no further than the five houses of RC4, the very core of the Residential College experience. Late-night supper jios, eating meals together in the Dining Hall, playing games on donated game consoles in the lounges past midnight, pulling all-nighters, you name it. No matter the time of day, your house will be your family away from home. Student journalist, Josiah (Aquila resident) gives an insight into the inner workings of his house!

From 10 to 14 February 2025, RC4 residents came together to celebrate the vibrant culture of ASEAN through ASEAN Week. This week-long series of engaging activities, workshops, and culinary experiences provided a platform for residents to immerse themselves in the traditions, history, and arts of the region!

This year’s Arts Night theme, Flux, embodies the struggle to adapt, to search for stability, and the resilience to redefine who we are. Through a night of showcase of RC4’s very own Arts Interest Groups from theatre and music to dance and fashion, this year’s Arts Night explored the tension between chaos and transformation.

Ijaz reflects on how the spontaneous decision to try a new sport, Dodgeball, has shaped his experience at RC4: "This sport has been one of the reasons why my stay in RC4 so far has been beyond spectacular and makes it clear why it’s more than just a sport; it’s my happiness."

RC4 is not just a place for STEM-focused events and classes - here, we celebrate our diverse and multi-talented community. From Arts Night to Chamber Classics, there are a plethora of platforms for both experienced and beginner students to develop and showcase their artistic interests. At the start of the semester, RC4 residents were treated to a night of captivating performances by their professors and peers - from the masterful classical pieces of Chopin and Beethoven, to fan favourites from Studio Ghibli and The Wizard of Oz!
