Empowering Seniors Through Digital Literacy & Inclusive Play: NoctuaCares 2026
What happens when students and seniors explore AI, creativity, and sport together? 📱 RC4’s Noctua House recently held a session at NTUC Health to bridge the digital divide while strengthening intergenerational bonds. Building on earlier 3D printing workshops, this iteration introduced seniors to AI in practical and meaningful ways.
Planting Mangrove Trees in A Fishing Village
As part of the Southeast Asia Friendship Initiative (SFI) course at the Residential College (RC4), students had the opportunity to join the Warloka village community on Flores Island, Indonesia, for a mangrove tree planting project. 3 students reflect on the impactful lessons that they could have not gained in a lecture hall.
Noctua House: Values in Action – Intergenerational Equity Program
Noctua House initiated the 'Values in Action' (VIA) initiative that provided a space for student to design and execute events that resonated with their passion for service. By allowing the students to lead, they had created a framework where student autonomy and creativity could flourish, resulting in meaningful contributions.

In the spirit of Residential College 4’s motto “Small Systems, Big Hearts”, a group of residents, faculty members, alumni and staff participated in a special 10th Anniversary Community Service Day on 6 September 2024.
SFI 2024: Exploring Food System Resilience in Asia
In July 2024, a group of RC4 students travelled to Chiang Mai, Thailand, for a research-focused trip centred on food systems resilience. The team delved into the complexities of Northern Thailand's food system through lectures at Chiang Mai University and fieldwork, engaging with individuals across various food economy sectors including paddy farm owners, community-based organic food producers, and coffee farmers.
