SFI 2024: Leadership at the Fringe
In July 2024, a group of RC4 students embarked on a trip to Lombok and Sumba, Indonesia, as part of the module UTC2725/UTS2712: Leadership at the Fringes. The study trip centered around two pressing global issues: climate change and food security.
Volunteering at Mercylight Animal Rescue and Sanctuary
A group of residents from House of Draco at Residential College 4 recently took part in a heartwarming volunteering event at Mercylight. The volunteers engaged in hands-on tasks aimed at enhancing the lives of the dogs under Mercylight's care.
SFI Indonesia 2023
In December 2023, students from the Southeast Asia Friendship (SFI) course UTS2708/UTC2717: “Water Governance in Asia from a Systems Worldview”, embarked on a transformative field trip to Indonesia, where they delved into the complex dynamics of water management and policy.
Ink Harmony
RC4lunteers, one of the RC4's community service interest groups, organised "Ink Harmony" to engage seniors from Orange Valley Active Ageing Centre in art jamming, in support of NUS Cares and part of the Youth Corps Singapore's Programme X. The event aims to promote active ageing and inter-generation bonding between the seniors and student volunteers.
Leadership at the Fringe in Lombok and Pulau Sumba, Indonesia
In May & July 2023, as part of their Southeast Asia Friendship Initiative (SFI) course, UTC2725/UTS2712: Leadership at the Fringe, a total of 41 students joined A/P Tan Lai Yong and Dr. Li Jingping to Lombok and Pulau Sumba, Indonesia. The trip allowed the students to explore leadership at the fringe, with a focus on two United Nations Sustainable Development Goals – Food Security (Zero Hunger) and Climate Change (Climate Action).
