[Perspectives] RC4 STEER Himalaya Forum
The STEER-Himalaya Forum brought together previous cohorts of the RC4 STEER Himalaya program, fresh candidates, experts from the region and the Associate Vice President of NUS-GRO. The RC4 STEER team demonstrated how fieldwork and Systems Thinking can be blended to co-create knowledge targeting mutual learning among students, educators, and community development practitioners.
Operation Tealsday (Sep 2023)
Ops Tealsday happens once every semester. It’s a day where residents showcase RC4 pride by donning the College Shirt together. This semester, residents were treated to popcorn and candy floss as they took part in merchandise sales and a polaroid photobooth.
Ink Harmony
RC4lunteers, one of the RC4's community service interest groups, organised "Ink Harmony" to engage seniors from Orange Valley Active Ageing Centre in art jamming, in support of NUS Cares and part of the Youth Corps Singapore's Programme X. The event aims to promote active ageing and inter-generation bonding between the seniors and student volunteers.
[Perspectives] Transitions in Discipline
On 22nd August 2023, RC4 alumnus, Ryan Tan, engaged students and fellows on the topic of “taking interdisciplinary beyond the classroom”. He connected his experiences from Singapore to his first year in the Graduate Program on Engineering and Policy at TU Delft in the Netherlands to demonstrate how interdisciplinary thinking can be used to reflect on life, create social purpose, and explore policy issues.
[Perspectives] Living Ahead of the Times
Prof Tan Tin Wee put Singapore on the world map. He was inducted into the inaugural Internet Hall of Fame in 2012 for being a global pioneer of the Internet and for inventing multilingual domain names which is now a global Internet standard called IDN.
